In a dutch orange yellow sky fire of fall 2005, amidst an arid dusty high-desert somewhere on planet Earth, four distinct galaxies collided creating colorful musical fusion. Through burning intergalactic wormholes and the vibrations of their infinite minds the sonic waves of SuperGiant came to life bellowing to the darkest spaces within and without. SuperGiant has shared the stage with Beck, Blue Cheer, and Weedeater to name a few, and has toured the country coast to coast releasing 3 full length albums along their journey....

Formed from the reorganization and decapitation of 2 Perth bands Saturation Point and Fractious, Define My Addiction have evolved into a cataclysmic display of heavy grooves, soaring hooks and clown based melody crossed with tourettes-like punctuation. Define My Addiction’s self produced epic debut album "Systemic", was mixed and mastered by renowned Perth producer Al (Dr Alien) Smith at Bergerk! studios and was released for digital download via major online retailers in July 2011....

Singer/songwriter Quinn Erwin was at a crossroads. Having recently relocated to Nashville, he found himself surrounded by a series of losses in his own life and in the lives of those close to him. Compelled by a desire to comfort the mourning, Erwin suddenly found himself embarking on a new direction musically – one inspired by the notion that death is a homecoming, rather than a reason for grief. “I couldn't recall if I had ever heard any songs about death that were triumphant and celebratory,” he explains. “So I made it my mission to write one.” That initial inspiration became a verse. The verse became a song. The s...

The Tosspints' style of music has been influenced by 3 lifetimes of living through the school of hard knocks, brought to bear from war, loss, degradation, and hard drinking. A band created entirely by a family who has had to make it through life the hard way and use their experience to create songs about the more distressed side of being human…  Their fast paced no nonsense stage show drives songs straight into the audience one after the other, pushing their own style of up tempo minor chord melodies out with the highest possible energy level....

CORE is not your average hard rock band. Hailing from South Dakota they are sure to be the next big thing to come out of the Midwest. For fans of Staind, Sevendust and Papa Roach, CORE approach songwriting honestly and are dedicated passionate musicians. This power trio provides a tight rhythm section that produces a brutal sound which is balanced by tender yet powerful vocal harmonies reminiscent of Layne Staley. Equal parts heavy riffs and delicate acoustics, CORE's music is emotionally charged and unique. They have opened for popular national acts SHINEDOWN, BUCKCHERRY, SALIVA, RED, SAVING ABEL, CANDLEBOX, SEASON'S AFTER, CAVO, DAYS OF THE NEW, WES BORELAND (of Limp Bizkit, and Black Light Burns), THE DREAMING, CIN...

Initially pegged as something as a voice of a generation when “Loser” turned into a smash crossover success, Beck did wind up crystallizing much of the post-modern ruckus of the ‘90s alternative explosion, but in unexpected ways. Based in the underground anti-folk and noise-rock worlds, Beck encompassed all manners of modern music, drawing in hip-hop, blues, trash-rock, pop, soul, lounge music…pretty much any found sound or vinyl dug up from a dusty crate, blurring boundaries and encapsulating how ‘90s hipsters looked toward the future by foraging through the past. In another time, Beck may have stayed the province of the underground, but he surfaced just as alternative rock turned mainstream, with his 19...

Benjamin Carr is a Southern Vermont resident bred in the Philadelphia and New Orleans music scenes. Carr's multi-instrumental abilities allow him to create diverse compositions of funky ‘ukulele jazz, full drum orchestrations and progressive rock. Ben's music has been described as "a genre-evading journey through sound"and "a unique brand of rootsy, funky, eclectic melodies." Carr plays with numerous regional acts including the reggae jazz hip-hop laced Mo Ambesa and the blues infused Sunny Lowdown. He also fronts his own group, the Ben Carr Music Project, an eight piece ensemble featuring two drummers, percussion, horns,...

One of the unlikeliest success stories in rock at the turn of the millennium, Detroit rap-rocker Kid Rock shot to superstardom with his fourth full-length album, 1998's Devil Without a Cause. What made it so shocking was that Rock had recorded his first demo a full decade before, been booted off major label Jive following his Beastie Boys-ish 1990 debut, Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast, and toiled for most of the decade in obscurity, releasing albums to a small, devoted, mostly local fan base while earning his fair share of ridicule around his home state. Nevertheless, Rock persevered, and by the time rap-metal had begun to attract a substantial audience, he had perfected the outlandish, over-the-top white-trash persona that gave Devil Witho...

Beginning with his classic debut, Illmatic (1994), Nas stood tall for years as one of New York City's leading rap voices, outspokenly expressing a righteous, self-empowered swagger that endeared him to critics and hip-hop purists. Whether proclaiming himself "Nasty Nas" or "Nas Escobar" or "Nastradamus" or "God's Son," the self-appointed King of New York battled numerous adversaries for his position atop the epicenter of East Coast rap, none more challenging than Jay-Z, who vied with Nas for the vacated throne left in the wake of the Notorious B.I.G.'s 1997 assassination. Such headline-worthy drama informed Nas' provocative rhymes, which he delivered with both a masterful flow and a wise perspective o...

The most influential MC-and-DJ tandem of the 1990s, Gang Starr set new standards for East Coast rap with a pair of early-'90s touchstones, Step in the Arena (1991) and Daily Operation (1992), whose appeal has only grown over the decades. Beginning with these classic releases, both listeners and critics heaped mounds of praise upon Guru and DJ Premier -- the former because of his socially conscious lyrics and no-nonsense stance, the latter because of his DJ-style beat-making and jazzy sound. Following Step in the Arena and Daily Operation, Premier became one of New York's most demanded producers, crafting hits for the city's finest MCs, including the Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Jay-Z, and KRS-One. Guru likewise collaborated with plenty of well-kn...

Ryan Zweng was born in the Capitol of California in 1985. He moved around between the Bay Area and Sacramento for most of his youth. At the age of nine his father committed suicide by lethal injection -he was an anesthesiologist- and his mother, sister and step-father settled into Los Altos CA. To fill time between domestic squabbling and suburban boredom he would play air guitar concerts with the Beatles "Help" to ghosts. Leaving Northern California in 2003, Zweng left for Santa Barbara, CA to study political science, philosophy and music. Matriculated into New York University in the Fall of 2005, he entered the Gallatin School of Individualized Study to further develop his ideas on Geohumanism. He also continued...

Black Sabbath has been so influential in the development of heavy metal rock music as to be a defining force in the style. The group took the blues-rock sound of late '60s acts like Cream, Blue Cheer, and Vanilla Fudge to its logical conclusion, slowing the tempo, accentuating the bass, and emphasizing screaming guitar solos and howled vocals full of lyrics expressing mental anguish and macabre fantasies. If their predecessors clearly came out of an electrified blues tradition, Black Sabbath took that tradition in a new direction, and in so doing helped give birth to a musical style that continued to attract millions of fans decades later. The group was formed by four teenage friends from Aston, near Birmingh...

The streets of Hollywood are paved with dreams. Most of those dreams are broken, others are buried, and some are simply burned. On their new album, American Tragedy, Hollywood Undead dissect those very same dreams with a volatile and vibrant hip hop swagger, a magnificent metallic crunch, and a danceable industrial soul. At the heart of the band's second release for A&M/Octone, these six musicians—Johnny 3 Tears, J-Dog, Charlie Scene, Da Kurlzz, Funny Man, and Danny—rhyme and rock from sharply hilarious jabs about vacuous clubs to unbridled, poignant musings on losing faith and struggling with addiction. Due out April 5, 2011, American Tragedy peeks at the death of the American dream from the rooftop ...

Aggressive post-hardcore quartet Lorene Drive mostly proffers the same punk-influenced emo angst as better known acts like Hawthorne Heights, Glassjaw, and Cave In. But this young band from California's desert interior also betrays the influence of vintage metal and hard rock (as opposed to nu-metal) outfits like Led Zeppelin, Metallica, and the Black Crowes, music close to the hearts of small-town heshers for decades. Lorene Drive formed in the small high-desert city of Victorville, CA, in 2002. Friends since junior high, singer and bassist Daniel Murillo, guitarist Stephen Fisher, and guitarist Justin Smith added drummer Kris Comeaux to form Lorene Drive, taking the not particularly good band name from the Victorville street that Smith li...

The Dirty South has been at the forefront of Hip-Hop music for the last decade. Miami, Atlanta and Houston have been thoroughly represented and have become commercially recognized powerhouses in Rap. The gritty sound that was once the soundtrack of Southern living has vanished and given way to dance oriented pop hits that no longer cater to the streets and have left a void in the industry. Rap music is in need of a fresh, new sound to fill that void, and that sound is coming out of Dallas...

Drew has been honing his skills on guitar for over 30 years, and began writing songs in his early teens. His guitar work shows his experience, with well crafted, solid rhythms and high calibur, melodic lead work. His talent as a lyricist is evident, with crafty use of rhyme, metaphor, humor, and the ability to express complex ideas or thoughts in succinct phrases.  Primarily a guitarist, Drew is also skilled behind a drum kit and on keyboard, recently combining those talents to record a new collection of original music. With his multi-Grammy Award winning music career, continued work in film and television, and multiple written works, Common has emerged as one of Hollywood's most sought after leading men. His numerous previous accomplishments in film and music include starring on the silver screen in films such as SMOKIN ACES, AMERICAN GANGSTER, WANTED, TERMINATOR SALVATION, DATE NIGHT and JUST WRIGHT. Jared Weeks - Vocals Jason Null - Guitars Scott Bartlett - Guitars Eric Taylor - Bass Michael McManus - DrumsBackyard barbecues, front porch jams, old-fashioned family values and hard-partying rock n' roll is the name of the game for Saving Abel. The no-frills, no pretension and down home charm driven compositions from these Southern boys have burned up the radio charts with soaring melodies and crunching hooks, caused guys and gals alike to shake what their momma gave 'em while pumping a fist in the air and served as feel good anthems for American troops on military bases abroad. Saving Abel combined meat and potatoes rock with bombastic hooks and stormed t...

Out of all the post-Nirvana alternative bands to break into the pop mainstream, Green Day were second only to Pearl Jam in terms of influence. At their core, Green Day were simply punk revivalists who recharged the energy of speedy, catchy three-chord punk-pop songs. Though their music wasn't particularly innovative, they brought the sound of late-'70s punk to a new, younger generation with Dookie, their 1994 major-label debut. Dookie sold over ten million copies, paving the way for a string of multi-platinum releases that opened the doors for a flood of American neo-punk, punk metal, and third wave ska revivalists. More than a decade later, as many of their former contemporaries settled into retirement, Green Day remained at the foref...

Baby Steps… For The Higher Concept (THC) that’s been the name of the game for the past 7 years. Working, Growing, Building, and Spreading the LOVE. Without a deep seeded PASSION for music the three MCs might have given up on their dreams a long time ago, but as they say, “we make music because we love it, anything that stems from that love is an added bonus”The boys have been hounded after to sign record contracts and management deals with various companies since they started making music back in '05, but an uncompromising vision and a will to make the type of music that inspires people to follow their passion has kept them from signing anything. Grassroots is the motto, and Grassroots is the movement. T...

Chromatics are the reflection on the dark side of the street. With Night Drive, they were barely there but they seemed to weigh a ton. Beautiful vocals giving life to city phrases, rhythms that keep everyone moving but not quickly enough to miss the crash. There are times when you can’t listen anymore to them because it hurts too much, and then you press play again. There’s an intimate distance to their music, with just enough separation that you don’t really know what’s going on.Chromatics’ new album, Kill For Love, was released March 26, 2012. They will be headlining the 2nd annual Gorilla Vs. Bear Fest in July 2012. ...

Crazy like a rabbit and happy like the new year, Glass Candy make music that is, as the Wall Street Journal put it, “irresistible.” On Beatbox, producer Johnny Jewel made beats fitting of his Hustletown hometown, and there aren’t many MCs who can ride a track like Ida No can, slippery but never sliding, full of highs and lows but never any flat lines. Glass Candy sound like a poet on a cloud floating above the discotheque, and the whole dance floor can’t stop reaching for them. Glass Candy’s new album Body Work is scheduled to be released in 2012. They headlined the Gorilla Vs. Bear Fest in 2012....
