After having played Kora in Baaba Maal's band for quite some time, the folks at Palm Pictures saw it fit for Kaouding Cissoko to have a solo release. The kora is a harp like instrument with 21 strings and is a native west African instrument. Kaouding must be considered a master at it because his playing is beautiful and flawless. Off and on through out the album there are both female and male vocals weaving between the harp strings. Baaba Maal even shows up for the last track "Bannaya".
