Janus - Red Right Return
It's one of those records that has a salty taste of enjoyable power and even respectful lyricism. Though a bit overplayed, respectful nonetheless. Leave it be..don't think of how overplayed the genre is when you're reviewing a CD, I dare ya!
Janus, is a constant melodic puzzle of different genres melted into one. Again, the vocals are stupendible five years, maybe even ten years ago. But there's simply something some Pete Loefller about them. Take the bridge off track eight"The Nerve" that just get's the blood pumpin, no cheesy cliches, just an honest overall heads up. This group hailing from Illinois, I wouldn't be surprised if it is Loefeller singing. These guitars have his love and signature all over them. But the live pics telling a different and exciting story.
Look, for some reason I just was not feeling the first few tracks. Starting with the beginning of "Maybe It's You", this album takes on a face of more impressive rhythm. This album is getting better with each song, as whiny as the vocals can be at times, I think I've got another album I casually missed in 2008. Fantastic lyricism, and slicked up Power Pop fang that will leave a mark.

Wow, spot on review.. I was thinking the guys voice sounded a lot like the guy from chevelle and now that I look up the Pete Loeffler you spoke of I realize that you pretty much came to the same conclusion. I actually don't mind chevelle for the most part, and these guys seem decent as well.
