One Eyed Jacks - One Eyed Jacks Ep
Looking at the cover of this random disc, received quite a few years ago I embarassingly admit, I didn't expect much. Sure we've all found a jewel of indie before, that's what makes us all love the random artist so much. Every now and then you plug in a CD, expect to suck ass,. But then all of a sudden the rhythm is nice, and you continue on with whatever the comptuer was tasking you with at that moment. Then the grooves of the disc are digging into your skin and tiny ear hairs.
Want a complaint about this release? There's not enough! Relaxedly sporadic and energetic, this cd of five tracks includes a classy cover of The Beatles Rocky Raccoon, which I must've supressed as a song I once knew. Mexico, the lead track a seering sound, brass induced, and vocals that are easily tapped into your brain. "Lay down low, Mexico, take it slow now". There's nothing fantastic about what these guys bring to the table individually, but as a melody of four, I'll pass upgrade concert prices to see these guys in ANY city. That is of course, if their still together. Damn shame when I miss artists like this cause of an over abundance of CD's. Nothing over fantastic, but certainly an artist missed because of regional ceiling.
