Through out the years of pop music and industry waves one thing has become very clear. The more music progresses the less we stop to hear the simple harmonies. Not to say Porter Block is the next pop sensation unbeknownst
to the world, but the mere fact remains is Off Our Shoulders isn't soaked in effects so overbearing you can't understand the music. Even in its simplistic forms of musical incisions, Porter Block's sophomore effort has a purist feel that can only be commended.
Very much a tribute to the likes of Tom Petty and Bob Schneider, seek out the title track for a monotone example of such purity. Long stroked eclectic guitars that work around vocal harmonies of honey flavored lyrics. No, theres not much in surprises or searing emotional instrumentation, but perhaps thats what we all need at the moment.
