Barcelona consist of four members from the Seattle rock scene. I stumbled across this album by mistake, but it has had my ears for the past couple of weeks. It's a very smooth album from beginning to end. Lead singer, Brian Fennell, brings a strong, clear voice accompanied by a somewhat muffled keyboard. Songs like Lesser Things and Colors are some of the stand out tracks from this album, in saying that, my least favorite song would go to the mono-toned and boring track First Floor People. While the lyrics are above average and the lead singer is pretty incredible, you might be left wanting more musically. It seems like this band is on the verge of something bigger, mainstream even, but this is a great album to add to your collection.
