Oh Justin, it seems that you aren't perfect. The Why Are We Not Perfect EP seems to stray from the bombastic full-lengths that you have shown us in your self-titled album and last years not quite so heavy Conqueror. The three tracks (two are "alternate versions" of one of the other three) are too similar and seem to drag on forever. They are decent but not near as incredible as Jesu is capable. My hope is that Justin is trying to get this mellower tracks out of the way for a thunderous return to heaviness on his next full-length.
The album opens with "Farewell" which seems to go for ages before the vocals actually kick in, and even then the song seem to drag on for the 6 and half minutes. "Blind and Faithless" is slightly better with a little more meat to it. And the title track is somewhere in the middle. The two alternate versions ("Farewell" and the title track) are almost unnecessary.
Jesu is still making some incredibly inventive music here. I'm being hard on Broadrick but only because we now know what he is capable of.

The album title and cover art say plenty to me, but too bad this sounds like a throw-away release. Might still check her out eventually.
