After a successful self released album, Ears Will Pop and Eyes Will Blink, the LA-based Bodies of Water were quick to sign a deal with Secretly Canadian for their follow-up. Ears Will Pop did nothing for me, so I went in to A Certain Feeling with little expectations. The album starts out very strong with "Gold, Tan, Peach and Grey" in which David and Meredith Metcalf swap vocals quite effortlessly. David's vocals really shine while Meredith's aren't my cup of tea. Things just go downhill from there. "Only You" is all set to put the listener to sleep and not an easy sleep either. Not asleep yet? If you make it to "Keep Me On" it should lull you into slumber. The album even ends on a sour note with both "If I Were A Bell" and "The Mud Gapes Open" are probably the worst tracks on A Certain Feeling.

"Under The Pines" is a decent track but not enough to make you suffer through the rest of the album. People are talking this album up quite a bit but listen to it for yourself before you buy it. I think there are much better albums out there this year that deserve your hard earned cash.
