I think their sound has a lot of Perfect Circle/Tool elements in it. Billy Howerdel was the founder of A Perfect Circle and is good friends with Maynard Keenan. He has ties to tons of other big bands though as well, including, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Faith No More, Guns N' Roses. I think I'd rather a new A Perfect Circle album then have him branch off with this new stuff, but it's pretty good either way.
