Texas seems to be a hotbed for new bands right now. One to throw on the growing list of up and comers is Egon, a band that formed 4 years ago and have been working hard on getting exposure. Although the vocals are very catchy (Victor sings in a falsetto for the most part) the thing that caught my attention was the wispy guitar playing. Sometimes it sounds so fragile that they have to turn down everything else just to hear it. I'm not saying Egon doesn't rock because they do, when they want. My favorite track has to be "The Blameful Ones" with a super groovy feel to it but maintaining that gentle guitar approach. Egon will most likely get lumped into the "emo" category which would probably suit them just fine. With their gentle approach to rock they will be able to sneak up on anyone interested in the genre.
