E is todays modern genuis! E (a.k.a. Mark Oliver Everett) after getting out all his greiving over loved ones on the Eels last album he now focuses on beautiful pop melodies once again. He occasionally slips into depression mode again ever once in a while but for the most part Daisies is an uplifting experience with hope. The lyric's in Jeannie's Diary go "I just wanna be a page/ In Jeannie's Diary" show us that E is back. The arrangements on this album are so lush and full that it is amazing how they can change the feel at the drop of a dime. He takes alot from Beach Boys style of arranging and brings it into the 2000's with added flair. E not only knows how to write catchy tunes but is also a whiz in the studio. Pay attention!
