Ordinarily when I receive CD's from Rainmaker Publicity I'm in for a wide variety of sounds. Barely2Much certainly meets that distinction. Unfortunately that's damn near the only distinction they've accomplished as this CD is drowned in terrible small amp guitar trash, and ear polluting vocals. Don't get me wrong there are some unique qualities to Guapolinda.
For instance track two Cobano, which has some small groove harmonica work which saves the track from its simplified garage alt/rock sound. another aspect of the disc that makes it unique is the obvious political implications. One song titled More Michael Moore, and even the album title definition in the CD jacket shows a strong focus on alternate wordly and political views. In the end, the creativity used in blending different genres and rhythms is fairly respectable. However, I've attempted to to dig through this CD several times, and the best For Fans Of suggestion I can make here is Tenacious D. Seemingly, the preparation and intregity placed on this record is nachalant at best.
