It is strange to think that the HorrorPops were relatively unknown previous to playing on the esteemed Warped Tour. Now this Psychobilly band from Denmark just seems to be steamrolling. Kiss Kiss Kill Kill is their third album on Hellcat and it proves that this band is as consistent as any others out there. The whole album is fun and driving with nary a throw away track. It does seem like the HorrorPops may be on cruise control though. There isn't much difference between their three albums. The thing they've got going for them is quality songwriting and tight musicianship. While they do have a little of that Psychobilly sound going on they appeal to a lot more than just fans of that genre.

Listen to "Boot2Boot" and you'll see just how fast and furious these Danes can get. Patricia Day's voice is meant for this type of music. She has the snarl that might have you thinking of Courtney Love on a good day.

I love the breakdown in "MissFit" where Patricia sings "My boot, in the middle of your face" sung to "Our House". It's clever twists like this that keep the entertainment value up. "Heading For The Disco" is just a great pop track that someone like Avril Lavigne could have taken on. The title track is a darker pop song but still fun.

If you like female fronted rock/punk bands, definitely give HorrorPops a chance. I think you'll find something in an album like Kiss Kiss Kill Kill that you can sink your teeth into.

This is a good album, but it doesn't quite measure up to their previous two, 'Hell Yeah' and 'Bring it On!'.

Having been a fan of The Horrorpops for several years, I was unsurprisingly very excited about the new album. Having cut a guitarist, the band is just back to the original trio of Patricia, Kim and Henrik.

The level up musicianship is excellent, Patricia is a great bassist and she gets a great slap sound, it's quite noticeable on the title track "Kiss Kiss Kill Kill". Patricia has an amazing voice, from really gravelly vocals to clean singing, she does it all well.

The album is the usual Horrorpops stint, a mix of several different genres and experimentation, which is what the band was formed to do in the first place. The band has that Psychobilly feel to it but has punk, ska and surf thrown in as well, although perhaps to a somewhat lesser extent than previous albums.

The Horrorpops will simply not stop with their quality songwriting, it's good to see a band come from pretty humble beginnings to be this big. If you like punk/rock or rockabilly/psychobilly or even ska you might want to check these guys out. Chances are you'll find at least one song on one album that you'll love.
