Ben Harper has a history of making good music, and his newest album doesnt disappoint. He mixes blues and rock with such soul that you just cant help but be soothed. Lifeline is great if you want to just chill out, or if you need some music to help you de-stress. I feel like somehow Ben still flies under the radar even after huge success and popularity and I cant understand why the radios arent flooded with the song Fight Outta You as it is an absolute masterpiece. His music is so uplifting, his voice is so emotional, and the acoustic guitar, piano, and other melodic elements are so well crafted, I am amazed this didn't make top ten lists for 2007 for any of the critics. I guess real instruments dont mean as much as synthesizers and samples these days. If you're looking for something with soul, or something to get you through a hard time, count on good ol' Ben, he'll always come through.
