Whatcha talking Sean?
Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce you to the possible best album of the year, The North Pole Project, the junior release from Number One Gun. I contemplated numerous ideas of introducing this review and this album, and I decided to go with the first thing I thought when "Skin it to pieces!" blared from my iLuv: "God damn!" When you think about other Tooth and Nail acts, you first consider the terrible Underoath, the atrocious Emery, and the irritating Mae. So upon listening to "Million," the first song released from the album I assumed it was too good to be true. There is no way Tooth and Nail would finally sign someone decent, right?
...Pause for effect...
Insert the Dr. Cox wrong song here. This is the best thing Tooth and Nail has signed ever. No, seriously--ever. I can't think of a band on Tooth and Nail that could compose the musical poetry that is "Thank You Ending." Underoath tries to facade the energy through their atrocious roaring but Jeff Schneeweis manages to encompass the energy of the whole Underoath discography into one song, "The Massacre" without roaring like a lion. While "Wake Me Up" has been written at least thirteen times lyrically, no wrote it the way Schneeweis did musically and no one has his voice. Tooth and Nail, give yourself a round of applause.
