On Elsinor Records website they state that they are the home of the "moat of discontent sound". Death cab For Cutie is the first Elsinor release I have had the pleasure of listening to and now I understand what the statement means. The band comes from Bellingham, Washington and boasts beautiful melancholic lyrics with amazing slow pop arangements. The songwriting is top notch with songs such as "Bend To Squares", "Fake Frowns", and "The Face That Launched 1000 Shits". Although most of the songs deal with failed relationships they don't get tired or cliche. Definitely a band to watch out for. And the cover of this CD is beautifully done.
