Daytona - Sustain
The Vancouver band didn't really get the chance to reach as many people as they should have. Colin Cleaver and his crew were able to take the Shoegazer style and inject a power unbeknownst to the genre. Colin and Jenny Lundgren would trade off vocals and it would sound so natural. One listen to the album opener "Shannon Kissed A Train" with the guitar panning back and forth with full feedback and then gradually the band joins in and builds into the song should have. They have no problem combining powerful guitars with with super catchy vocals and harmonies. Even though this album is 5 years old it stands up to alot of the crap out in the music world today. Glen Reely, who is responsible for other great Canadian albums such as 54-40's Smilling Buddha and Mystery Machine's 10 Speed, does his magical thing with Sustain. This is truly a Canadian classic.
