Nice messy punk rock is what Blood On The Wall likes to deliver and with Liferz, the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Awesomer, the now Brooklyn-Based group makes that messy punk rock even more fun. This is the sort of music that quite often turns off people with as little as one listen but given the chance Liferz has the potential to become a favorite of many. Songs like "Rize" just have that charisma punk bands strive for. It's got a catchy riff and some easy to take lyrics mixed up in there.
Now what it is about Blood On The Wall to set them apart I don't really know. How can a band like this play messy punk rock and come off so awesome (awesomer?)? All I know is that Liferz has some of the best rock music in years. The switch off between male and female vocals always works for me. It's like what you would want from a Kills album. They have classic elements like on "The Ditch" which sounds vaguely like "Jet Boy Jet Girl" but they can also sound new and exciting on "Sorry Sorry Sarah", even if they end off the song with "Bird IS The Word". Overall Liferz just proves that if you do rock music right then you can create a magic album. It seems as though Blood On The Wall is just getting started here. Don't miss out on Liferz.
