I had bought this album when it first came out because Creeper Lagoon's last album, I Become Small And Go, intrigued me very much. I wasn't going to review it either, because we try and stay away from major label artists (some exceptions do occur for lesser known and covered artists). I thought that the hit potential was there. Too bad for Creeper Lagoon that no one has picked it up at radio yet. Well, here is my review. You may or may not have heard Creeper Lagoon's debut on Mammoth Records, which was a fun and experimental album with many highs and lows. On Take Back the Universe, Creeper takes the major label plunge and it shows too. The song qualities are all comparable to the high points on their last with a whole bunch more hooks thrown in. I believe that the first single is "Chance of a Lifetime" which is far from the best track on here. Try out "Wrecking Ball" or "Hey Sister" on for size and they will put to shame most of Rock Radio music being played right now. Creeper Lagoon has shown great promise and now all they need is some strong radio backing. There should be no reason why they can't make it.
