The liner notes of this crisp remastered collection say "Muddy's a blues singer". Well, yes he is a blues singer but if you listen to the lyrics of his songs he sings them with so much conviction that you swear every word is true. On this set he has the legend Willie Dixon playing bass, youthful Buddy Guy trading off guitar solos, and Clifton James on drums. Originally released in 1964 they have patched it up and re-released it with 5 bonus tracks on it. A little more laid back than a lot of his other recordings but still shows off his genuis. Definitely a good Muddy album to get into the legens music.
