If you’re in the market for an achingly beautiful new songwriter who is out to spill her heart out then look no further than the sublime Rosie Thomas. Her songs are gentle and sweet without being overly emotional. Rosie Thomas may be known to some in the Seattle area as Sheila, the pizza delivery driver wearing a neck brace and huge glasses. You see, Rosie is also a comedien but when you listen to When We Were Small you wonder where that sense of humor comes from. The songwriter is a heartbroken and forlong person that sings beautiful and fragile ballads. You may recognize her vocals from Damien Jurado’s Ghost of David as well as the Tribute to Bruce Springsteen on “Wages of Sin. With her debut album she has proven herself a very talented musician showing parts of her soul that takes a lot of courage to reveal to people, let alone the world. These 10 songs are over before you know it. This is music that you put on your stereo late at night, when you are feeling lonely in order to know that you are not the only one with these feelings. Rosie Thomas will relish in the fact that her debut album is a success.
