Various Artists - This Is Indie Rock Vol. 2
This collection, the 2nd of 3 so far, combines unsigned or unknown talents from across the globe. Each has been a great submission of styles and flavors for indie fans to enjoy, and this is no exception. These 12 tracks cover everything from pop, metal, hardcore, emo, singer-songwriter and most points between. Personal favorites include the trip-pop of Maxel Toft, the alt-country (think a heavier Bright Eyes) of Sedona and Death Ships, and the melodic leanings of Nature Living. More than the previous This Is Indie Rock collection, the variety here seems wider and overall the album is very satisfying and should leave most listeners craving more from at least a few of these talents. If you liked the first, own the third and are still contemplating this one, check it out. Everyone else do the same; you're bound to find something you'll enjoy. Deep Elm have their fingers on the pulse of today's up and coming indie acts for sure.
