Susan Tedeschi won just about every award there was to win for a young woman getting started in blues as well as being nominated for Best New Artist in the 2000 Grammy Awards alongside Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Kid Rock, and Macy Gray. She was personally asked by Bob Dylan to join him on tour after he saw one of her performances. Pretty impressive for any blues musician. Then she slipped off into nowhere. This album was a four-year wait but she was kept busy getting married to guitarist Derek Trucks and having a baby. So on Wait For Me Susan decides to take it down a notch. She still can belt out a tune and funk it up like on “Hampmotized. People amazed by her power may be a little taken back with Wait For Me but what this album did for me is bring out another side of Susan. One of the coolest tracks on here is a track written by Tommy Sims called “Alone. This was chosen as the first single as well. Not pushing the boundaries of Blues like Just Won’t Burn but rather looking at Blues for further inspiration. There are a couple beautiful ballads in the Bonnie Raitt style. In the end, she is still ahead of the pack of blues singers.
