The Bled - Silent Treatment
The long awaited The Bled album, Silent Treatment, is being released this coming Tuesday, September 25th. Found In The Flood, the previous record before this release, was a different step for The Bled. It had a different kind of hardcore feeling to it, which was something not expected by fans of The Bled. It seemed as though some of the hardcore screams and break downs found in their debut album, Pass The Flask, had been lost in translation. Well, whatever may have been lost in translation back then, has certainly been found once again.
Silent Treatment is a breath of fresh air for fans of the hardcore genre. The entire album is filled with energy and passion, like every music album should. It's obvious that The Bled have put in a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to make this record what it is. Each track is carefully thought through and is clearly the best it can be. There are plenty of references back to Pass The Flask, for all of those who loved that record. Songs such as Silver Lining, You Should Be Ashamed, and Starving Artiste are the kind of songs people have been waiting to hear. Songs that need to be put out so everyone can be reminded what good hardcore sounds like.
The vocals are solid, absolutely flawless and consistent throughout the entire album. Instrumentation is amazing as well, The Bled have managed to create some very unique riffs to go with thier new album. So overall, The Bled's Silent Treatment is a great album, with a great hardcore feel to it. The only reason I'm giving it 4.5 stars, is because I feel the album as a whole is too short. I would have loved to have heard more from them on this release, but I guess 11 tracks can hold me over for now. So if you're into the hardcore genre, or you like The Bled... You won't be let down.
