Knobody, starts off with a head start coming off one Hiero(glyphics) Imperium Records. Working through their farm system, this Bay area product won't be knobody for long.
Granted comes in clear, vocally and rhythmically. The chorus features a smooth female contribution and has a terrific melody. The lyrical content is far more powerful than I was expecting. "My nigga that's a Cowboy fan, yeah! Everybody knows. So I called to talk shit about 'em signing T.O. Before I had a chance to hit him wit it and get a laugh, he told me yesterday he had lost his dad". Knobody isn't shallow, or stereotypical rap. His flow has identity, and it shows throughout the disc.
What U Think (the lead single/first video) has a viable echoed drumbeat backbone. The chorus has a soul/r&b accompaniment that gets me to thinking about - and Knobody may not like this comparisson- a DJay (Hustle & Flow) feel. Track five Sacrafice has a subtle feel, piano and beat as Knobody rolls over the vibe. The verbal is quicker than the sound, and it fits nice.
Beats by Da Beathoven, and guest appearances by A Plus, G7, Ginger and others, Tha Cleanup is a hybrid of bearable Hip Hop/Rap that may be the beginning of Knobody's maturation process. Yeap, you're right, I'm not a Rap fan, that's why I'm actually digging this record, cause its not just Rap. Tha Clean Up filters the molecules between Hip Hop and Rap.

The name reminds me of the greek myth of when Odysessues slays the Cyclops by saying his name is Nohbdy.
