Whenever I'm reviewing an album I always start out by writing down my favorite tracks on the album. It helps me keep track of where to touch on in the review and reminds me which tracks I should recommend you folks check out before you go out and purchase the album. But, I ran into a problem when reviewing the new Super Furry Animals' album-- it's just too instantly likable! To illustrate, here's my list for my first and my second listen.

Most albums I listen to at least 5 times before giving a review... I only had to listen to this album twice to realize that it's just really catchy and really good. I can't think of how to describe it except by saying it's a pretty straight-forward "indie-pop" or "indie-rock" album (as much as I hate those terms), but saying that doesn't really do the album justice. Hey Venus! only seems straight-forward; it actually has layer upon layer of sounds and textures.
