D-Loc and Johnny Richter are two of the most promising white rappers that have ever come out of the rap game. With ten years already under their belt as the frontmen for the Kottonmouth Kings and an amazing debut, everyone was waiting to see if these two could step their game up and release a more mature album.
While P.T.B. isn't really that far of a stretch from the last album, there are certain qualties about this one that makes it so much better. Old school beats have never quite been to my liking, so I was very pleased to hear that most of those have been tossed out and replaced with new school style and infused with the kings trademark so-cal underground sound. How Life Goes is the major standout track for me out of the entire album. This song is as if these two had a major wakeup call....an epiphany if you will. Lyrics about being thankful for what you have because you could lose it in a second, ring true to anyone and everyone that will listen. And of course there is plenty of bass and upbeat tunes to satisfy the inner club rat in all of us.
If Kottonmouth Kings has never been your style because of the lyrical content, then I suggest you give this a try. This is an album written for anyone who will lean an ear because the lyrics are about life and all the crazy shit that comes along with it. There are low points as there are highs, but never too low.Beggining to end, intro's and outro's, this is an album worth ever drop of blood and every bead of sweat that was poured into the tracks. Buy it, borrow it, whatever. Just listen.
