Coming off their highly successful debut full-length, Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence, Glassjaw had a lot of expectations to meet with their second LP release; and they were moderately successful in doing so. On Worship and Tribute, Glassjaw's
sound retained the hardcore elements found in Silence, though the songs were more structured; most noticably, there were no screaming breakdowns reminiscent of "Lovebites and Razorlines," however, songs like "Pink Roses" and "Two Tabs of Mescaline" satisfy former Glassjaw fans' yearning for Daryl Palumbo's patented feral screams. Contrarily, songs like "Mu Empire" present a poppish element to Glassjaw, with catchy guitar riffs and a defined chorus, a trend manifested throughout the album, especially in songs like "Trailer Park Jesus." Though this album could never be another misogynistic, raw, infuriated EYEWTKAS, Worship and Tribute is a successful album overall, showcasing the tremendous amount of progression Glassjaw had made in 2 years.
