Josh Scogin(the chariot, ex-norma jean) can produce screams that will send chills down your spine and back up again. The Chariot's debut album, Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead and Nothing Is Bleeding, has plenty of guitar riffs, high powered bass, and face paced drumming parts to last anyone for a lifetime. This group is full of very talented individuals, listen to the music and break down each individual part to see just how much is contributed to this band. Upon first listen, I noticed that The Chariot often uses the feedback to their advantage. I wasn't very fond of this at first, but with listening more and more, you realize how much it fits in with the music and why it belongs where it is. The most satisfying part in their songs is when everything moves toward the hardcore breakdown. Just from listening to the music you can tell that it's coming but you just don't know when. Most of the lyrics are repeated, which can be quite annoying, but it goes with the general form of music so it doesn't become that much of a headache.
Overall, Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead, And Nothing Is Bleeding is a great debut album for The Chariot. It's a great album to throw down to if you're angry and you need to take your aggression out. If you're a fan of Norma Jean or Poison The Well, I suggest you check out The Chariot.

Nearly a year later, and you get the review in now? Haha, oh well. I'm getting their entire discography right now based just on the strength of this review and your comments, dan, so it better be good or Wayne Brady is gonna have to choke a bitch.

I was pissed that i could not find the chariot on here. This band is probably, or probably will be, in the top ranks as of the most hard hitting band in the United States of America. This album completely blew me away. I'll tell you right now that they are getting a 10 star review from me right now. This album is just solid, hard hitting, right to the point, no bullshit. They sound like norma jean, but harder. So if you like, chances are you'll like the other. The Chariot makes amazing music, and serves to be a musical influence to other hardcore bands trying to make it right now. This was such an amazing release, and i think if you're into hardcore, you should check this out. I HIGHLY recommend it.
