I don’t know how Alex at In Music We Trust gets a hold of such fine releases. Bluebottle Kiss is no exception to this. They are four-piece band (recently upgraded from three) that come our way from Australia. Revenge Is Slow is actually the bands fourth full-length album and from what I can tell, their most popular in Australia as well. Upon first listen there isn’t that much to it but certain songs stick out making you play the album again. Bluebottle Kiss creep up on your conscience and enter without a welcome. They get into your head with their gentle melodies and haunting harmonies (bit of a ghost-like quality to “Peewee’s Dream�). Revenge Is Slow is a diverse album with songs of varying speeds and moods. They have been compared to Coldplay but be forewarned that Bluebottle Kiss is actually darker than their UK counterparts. The band has so much potential and they just need to be heard. Revenge Is Slow will become one of this years “best albums that you haven’t heard� and bound to become many reviewers favorite. There is a decent complexity to Bluebottle Kiss that will keep this album in CD players all over the world. To top it off, it’s got a great classy package as well.
