Ha, I thought Andorra was a downturn for Caribou. Milk was so much better. Maybe I need to give it another shot.

This is an amazing piece of work. Combine trippy 60s acid pop and Animal Collective's leftovers and you've basically got Andorra. "Melody Day," one of the albums highlights, is beautifully orchestrated chaos, like Christmas on crack, like someone fell over in the music room. "Irene" signifies Caribou's drift from form to unstructured mess, but in that unstructured mess is a heartfelt love song. Although the album is way too short - 9 songs? - it's definitely a triumph. If one listens closely enough, Caribou, from Up in Flames and Milk of Human Kindness to Andorra - has been trying to find itself over the years. Music listeners: watch out for the evolution of Caribou.
