The Blake Babies are back! Yup, it’s true thanks to drummer Freda Love’s comeback idea. Really, their solo careers had petered out (or non-existent in the case of Freda) so what better way to inject life into their 30 something lives. I have been a fan and a follower for of all their careers for some time and feel that God Bless may be their best of their career (both band and solo). Both Juliana and John are sounding better than ever (John’s Vestavia comes pretty close though). Juliana alumni Evan Dando shows up to help out on the ever-fitting “Brain Damage both as a writer and dueting with Juliana. You can tell that the group is more mature and experienced (which isn’t hard to imagine considering how young they all were when they started). Let’s just hope that The Blake Babies are back for good and not just a short ride.
