No Comment is a Canadian band, based in Ontario that has some rootsy sides to them and like to dabble in folk. Lead singer AJ Houston reminds me of Mark Knopfler, which in it’s own, is a really good thing. He doesn’t really have much vocal range but it works for the trodden style of music that comes from No Comment. The collective has released a few albums already and Castles In The Air is their best-received album so far (but only the first that I have heard). This music won’t appeal to everyone but there are plenty of indie fans that like the folk side of things that will eat this up. Most of the songs are relatively quiet but after a couple of listens, I wouldn’t be surprised if you would be singing along to the choruses. Vocalist Linda Van Oosterom backs AJ up on vocals and adds another dimension to the already intriguing music.
