Although not his finest moment, Geoff Muldaur comes back to us with Password, the follow up to 1998's amazing Secret Handshake. Password opens with "Kitchen Door Blues", a nice laid back blues track that features the slide guitar genius of David Lindley. Pretty much the rest of the album is a cover album of sorts. Second track in Geoff takes his hand at a Sleepy John Estes track entitled "Drop Down Mama" with help from labelmate Dave Alvin. Alvin helps out on a few other tracks as well. Another track of note is a track Geoff turns over to his daughter Clare Muldaur and she does a great job singing ("At The Christmas Ball"). He has an interesting pick of tracks here including one from Blind Willie Johnson and Charlie Patton. Not a bad album but Mr. Muldaur has more in him than this.
