Jesus christ, what part of:
The Beatles are the only ones who can pull off the Beatles. Everybody else, I demand you stop trying. Yes, talking about the Shames, some indie-Beatles coverband by the sound of their debut, full length. Oh, yes, it goes there. Really: every song from the yawn-worthy "Cry When You're Drunk Now," a title not nearly as amusing as they were trying to be to the 'page-turner' "Tried To Be Lonely," the album has all the trademarks of the Beatles, the Strokes, and Jet all sleeping together in one bed.
Doesn't anyone understand!
Fortunately, mockery of the ancestors means you are as good as the people who did before you. Unfortunately, someone already did it and doing it again doesn't make you good, it makes you boring. That's what this album is. Boring. Avoid.

There you go Sean! A nice brief review that isn't over analyzed. Good work. I promise to stay far away from the Shames. The write-up made this one look interesting.
