When a band is praised as "The World's Most Exciting New Band" (Kerrang) one cannot get help but get excited to listen. Gallows is indeed a new band coming to your stereo from Watford, UK. The boys in the band throw out names like Minor Threat, Black Flag, Refused and Mastodon as influences. And really, they've just summed up the Try If You Like for me. I really can't expand on it that much and I'm not being lazy. I might add Blood Brothers to bands to compare them too.
Gallows have the anger and the passion in this punk music that has hardly been heard, honestly, in the last 5 years or so. Consider Gallows a logical extension for the hardcore world. There really isn't anything new brought to the table here only passion and hard work. Some of the music they use some quite angular approaches, almost Blood Brothers like. There is no coming up for air, no escape from Gallows assault. From opener "Kill The Rhythm" to closer "Nervous Breakdown" they just keep pummeling. I'm impressed.
The best thing about their debut Orchestra Of Wolves is the intensity that Gallows captures. If this is anything like their live show then I will be totally impressed, if ever I get a chance to see them.

I listen to Orchestra of Wolves occasionally on my morning run, and the day is destined to be phenomenally energetic. My brother saw them open for Bad Religion in Washington. The cell phone vid of Come Friendly Bombs that he took is, even in its lo-qual poorness, just so killer!
Every time I listen to In The Belly of a Shark I feel like smashing something to bits. I'm not sure that's a good thing.

It's been a long time since I've heard a new hardcore band that I like. They're sincere; it seems like they didn't get tatoos because they were in a hardcore band.... Its the real deal baby - an orchestra of wolves. I don't really know how else to explain it.
