Carl Cox - Phuture 2000
Not knowing what to expect from Carl Cox having only heard some of his work on compilations (I know, I know - supposedly the worlds best DJ but I live in Canada OK), I was quite pleased. A very upbeat drum 'n' bass adventure (only way to describe the diversity). Starting with house beats, heading towards reggae/dancehall, latin tinged, and funk all with heavy bass throughout. Sometimes he just tries to throw too many genres in the bag but due to his skill and experience he makes it work. A very smart album proving Carls diversity. A good album to restore faith in the world of drum 'n' bass.
