Archive - You All Look The Same To Me
Archive is a UK based band that hasn’t had much coverage over in North America. A friend at A&B Sound recommended it to me and I had a quick listen in the store but it’s really hard to process an opening track of 16+ minutes when you are listening in store. I liked what I heard so I picked it up. Archive incorporates many elements of Wish You Were Here era Pink Floyd, Radiohead, and Coldplay. A track like “Finding It So Hard wouldn’t be that misplaced on Radiohead’s Amnesiac album. Their real specialty is their Floyd-ish epics like the opening “Again and “Fool. From what I have read about Archive, their debut Londinium was quite an underground hit. Hopefully people will stand up and notice You All Look The Same To Me because this is one beautiful headphone album. When they really get going like on the album closer “Men Like You I’m reminded of Manic Street Preachers. Notice that I’m not throwing around any third rate names here. Archive is a very cool and adaptable band with the abilities to write some pretty fine music. If you like any of the bands mentioned, I would suggest that you seek out Archive’s latest.
