A brilliant release by young songwriter and lead singer Conor Oberst, Bright Eyes’ "Every Day and Every Night" explores the despair and desolateness of a life of drugs and dependency with sparsely used instrumentation and haunting vocals. Highlighted by Oberst’s sullen lyrics and quivering voice, this EP illuminates Bright Eyes’ potential to create powerfully poignant music that offers the listener no signs of hope but still demands further listens.
