I’m a newer Apples In Stereo fan, getting into their last album, The Discovery of a World Inside The Moone and realizing that there is always a lot more to this band than what you see on the surface. Velocity of Sound is a fuzzy rock-fest that really raises Apples In Stereo in my eyes. They are more than just indie rock artists here. This is an album of Ramones-styled crunchy rock that really gives your stereo a workout. “Please opens the album with a great fuzzy pop track with awesomely timed silent breaks. “Rainfall is a little more what you expect from this great outfit but they have switched up to a fuzzy guitar sound throughout the album. Wait until you get to the last track, “She’s Telling Lies. Put away that Donna’s album and buy this instead. Wow! Apples In Stereo has been through big line-up changes throughout the years but the one thing that remains constant is Robert Schneider. His songs are so innocent and quite accessible by anyone willing to give him a chance. This incarnation is the most rock and roll the Apples have ever been. I like it.
