RecommendNishimoto takes a break from his work with post-rock monsters I’m Not a Gun to brings us this gorgeous, meditative work for solo acoustic guitar. This is not a flashy exercise, nor an ambient snore; there are touches of jazz and blues, and genuine passion that create a collage of tones that collectively are beautiful and hypnotic. This is acoustic playing that references ambient and blues progressions, that center the listener and take them away to uncharted territory. Controlled power and stunning invention mix on these small quiet gems.
