Former Brutal Truth honcho Rick Hoak’s new band sort of reminds me of Squirrel Bait, though a lot more abrasive and shredding. Like that band, TFD is smart as well as monumental. Their grind and speedcore is funny and self-aware, and snotty in all the right places. After fourteen tracks and an additional, generous helping of eight videos, you can’t help but want to fool yourself yet again and say that this is the best band I’ve heard in years. Maybe not, maybe they don’t need to be. The joyous frenzy and aroused mania of "Warfinger," "We Are All Elvis Now," "Bio-Satanic Terrorist Attack" or "Kill The Jocks and Eat Their Brains" not to mention the already immortal "Seth Putnam Was Wrong About a Lot of Things, But Seth Putnam Was Right About You"? channel all the greatest moments in rock, at least in terms of attitude and delivery. Now don’t fuck up; go and get this now.
