As we all know, a lot says about a band in their band name. Hotpipes is no exception. Similiar to The White Stripes, and any other Garage rock band, Hotpipes bring a bit more of flowey feel without the abusiveness of having to share them with everyone. Simply cause, well theyre indie...for now...
Pleasureably upbeat music is hard to come by, consider yourself advised, Hotpipes is pleasureable. With that being said, Hotpipes is also very boring in the sense that every song has the same back beat. From track one to track eleven, the same backbeat of percussion is found. Whilst each pumping full of energy and tempo, its difficult to discern each song from the next. Of course with a few exceptions.
Starter Kit is a slow little acoustic track with a focus on vocal harmonies. Track two is a sick little screecher with soul and memorable melody. So on and so forth... Like the blank fuckups of The Beattles, Hotpipes strive in rhymic randomness like nobody's business, and stop for only a second to care what you think. Organ feelers, and aggressive guitar strokes make this album with givin a whirl, you won't be disappointed.
