Hank Dogs - Bareback
The Hank Dogs have a bit of a funny history. Andy was a session musician for the Sex Pistols while Piano was in the punk band, The Slits. That being said, put all your premonitions aside because this is as folk as you can get. They manage to get your attention for the entire album and never let you go. They do this with the amazing vocal harmonies and the skillful acoustic guitar playing. Andy and Piano trade off vocal duties but both are very memorable. There are some of the most amazing harmonies between the girls in the band and the guitar is some of the finest fingerpicking I have ever heard. The Hank Dogs remind us of just how good English folk can actually be. For those of you looking for a real folk treat with talented musicians pick up Bareback.
