Are you ready for some weird, fucked up music? Eric Alexandrakis is about to take you on an aural journey that is like no other. Eric uses all sorts of strange and beautiful samples to work into his songs and sometimes even base an entire track on. His classical training shines through as well with the amazing arrangement he comes up with. Eric chooses to surprise the listener; at one moment he is coaxing you closer with his soothing yet melodramatic voice and then at the next he has some wacky sample waiting to hit you with. He used I.V. Catatonia as therapy while he was taking Chemotherapy for Hodgkin’s disease. This is why the album comes off so personal. He recorded it all at home in between his treatments. The album ends up being fairly dark and yet Eric maintains a very real harmony throughout it. Eric really has a keen ear for a melody and a good sample as well.
