It's been a while since Killswitch Engage has been blasted through my ears and you know what, after listening to As Daylight Dies it's just been way too long. It's that scream to a sing that really makes this band. It's what screamo bands aspire to achieve. On As Daylight Dies the band just seems to take their heavy sounds to the next level. The thing is that Killswitch Engage is heavy as hell but they are so accessible. Look no further than the second track here, "This Is Absolution" for proof of this. They kind of take the stance of bands such as Sevendust and make them even heavier. Then they take on many heavy moments like the fierce moments in "For You".

Now, if you are scared, just take your time with this band. There is so much to Killswitch Engage that it is hard to take in first listen. Start with the songs I've mentioned above before you make your moves on some of the others. This is one intense band and if you don't like, they don't care. There are plenty of other metal fans out there that will eat this album up. It is an album with many twists but comes with many rewards. Do check it out.

have to completely agree with Black on this one. This was most certainly a step up from their previous albums, and with the bonus disc revealing a cover of Holy Diver, KsE has stepped into the realm of the metal gods. Howard Jones is the epitome of screaming lead singers of metal. and Adam Dutkiewicz really shreds on his whatever kind of guitar he has lol. point being that KsE has pretty much solidified themselves a top the post industrial hardcore metal scene.

I think that this is a step up for Killswitch Engage. Their past album, 'The End of Heartache' was good, but i dont think it was as hardcore or metal based as it could have been. There was a lot left over of the band after that release. For this release, it seems like they took all of the remains and threw them into a blender. What happens when you put great guitar riffs, vocals, drums, and solos into a blender? You get great material. And this is what i think this album is, just genuine great material. I agree with Dennis, he did a great job pointing out the good points of this album.
