With nine tracks clocking in at just over a half hour, Rorhat is a debut by a German noise band that demands attention and focus. Yet the memory and the ringing last much longer than the time it will take to rattle you. With brutal riffs with a penchant for mixing up the rhythm with off-kilter jazz and funk rhythms, Volt show off plenty of chops.
This bodes well for future releases, as there are elements here that indicate a desire to do more than kick you in the balls. For those of you think of Scorpions or worse when thinking of German metal, look no further than Volt for a way out of your cultural hole.
