A Mercury Prize nomination and a jaunt around the country with the Scissor Sisters has been the reward for a free-spirited, musically swooning and contemplative debut album 'Through The Windowpane'. Commanding and lofty vocalist Fyfe Dangerfield, lead his troupe on an uplifting musical journey that is brought down to earth by lyrical dejection and thoughtfulness;
"I found something dying, it was my light.
It had resigned itself tonight, so I threw it out a fishing line
And said catch your meal and they'll catch mine."
Rivalling Arcade Fire for light musical expansion, this single re-emphasises the potency and song-building guile of one of the surprise artists of last year. The band is about to head out on tour and they have come in for a little criticism, concerning their ability to capture their quirkiness and spirit live. This single could give them the momentum to do just that.
