The Apostle of Hustle team gave us an unexpected album with their debut. Now it is time for the dreaded sophomore album. Not to fear though because these guys are very experienced. Their new album is called The National Anthem of Nowhere and it starts out with a gentle track (just like their debut), called "My Sword Hand's Anger", that has a really catchy chorus. Then they move effortlessly into the title track, which is easily one of the best songs of the set. It does remind me of a few songs off of their first. Looking for a little of that world fusion? Well, that's here too. They have a little Latin flavor on a couple songs ("Rafaga!") but one of the most interesting tracks is the very rhythmic "Haul Away". It almost has an African beat going in the background and what seems like a sea shanty style vocal. Lovely song. Speaking of lovely, try on the fantastic "A Rent Boy Goes Down". It is a gamut of different styles but the AOH guys manage to pull it off just fine.
There are a lot more similarities this time around to Broken Social Scene, so if you are a fan of BSS and haven't checked out Apostle of Hustle, I'd recommend you do so right now. You won't be disappointed.
