The Subhumans are a pop-punk band from Vancouver, Canada. Not to be confused with the anarcho-punk band from England. In fact, this band seems to draw more influences from modern day Mike Ness than anything. With cheeky lyrics and the usual mindless three chords, they could very easily be lost in the mix of all the other pop-punk bands that flood the radio waves today.
The only thing that sets this band apart are the political lyrics, which seem to be a big no-no in the genre. And that is not saying too much. Even though the album art may lead you to the assumption that this is a political band, the songs that actually have political content are few and far between.
The contents aren’t all that bad by any means, it was really quite enjoyable in small doses. But I can honestly say that it isn’t something that is essential to my collection.
